Welcome to Project T.A.H.I.T.I., it’s a magical place. It also happens to be a weekly Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. recap podcast hosted by Jared and Jess. We go through episode-by-episode and do a rundown of the synopsis, discuss a plethora of elements around and within the episode itself, and we top it off with a SPOILER SECTION– so if you aren’t caught up on the show yet, never fear! We’ve got you covered here at Project T.A.H.I.T.I. It’s not recommended that you skip this section, though. Jared has an encyclopedic knowledge of comics tie-ins and character origins, and we dig into content from more recent seasons to give a richer experience for those rewatching to series. And Jess just does a lot of fangirling over Agent May and Daisy Johnson, so you won’t want to miss that. Episodes are released every Thuesday.
I’m a former comic book professional and lifelong comics fan and a love of all things superhero. I’ve been into Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. off and on since the beginning, and really fell in love with it during the 3rd season. The humor, the action, the characters, the comics tie-ins, and particularly, the meaningful representation and the heart make it stand out above the other comics shows on the air currently.
In addition to having help made hundreds of comics, I also used to be an early childhood educator and child care provider. I love pretty much everything nerdy, from Batman to Captain America, to DuckTales to David the Gnome. And I’ve got an encyclopedic knowledge of pointless pop culture information, which does come in handy when podcasting about comic book shows! I’m also a co-host of the Making Star Wars Podcast Network’s @Podcast2187 and on spreading nonsense and reminders of self-care, and cute animals, on Twitter and IG as @isnownothin.
I’m a relatively new Marvel fan, but I loooove me some Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In my opinion, the show has some of the best characters and emotional moments of all the MCU. What other comic book show can make you cry literally every episode for multiple seasons? The fact that one of the leads is a biracial Asian woman who happens to be a superhero doesn’t hurt either. Oh, and Agent Melinda May. We stan forever.
When I’m not screaming about AoS, I’m screaming about Star Wars, the general MCU, The Expanse, the world of Tolkien, Jeff Goldblum, or one of many possible YA novels I’ve stayed up all night reading. I’m also the co-host of the Star Wars podcast Lousy Beautiful Town and can generally be found on Twitter (@spacejessss) yelling about representation or posting photos of my cats.
