Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Today, the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts title and first official plot details were confirmed during a production kick-off event. The virtual event featured a conversation with director Steven Caple Jr. and producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura. In addition, stars Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback made a special appearance.

The synopsis for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is: Returning to the action and spectacle that first captured moviegoers around the world 14 years ago with the original Transformers, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons. Directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, the film arrives in theatres on June 24, 2022.

The movie will bring back fan-favorite Optimus Prime and is set to include characters from Beast Wars, the 1990s Transformers animated series. “I want to discover more about Optimus Prime, get underneath the surface — get underneath the metal, if you would — and explore who he is and his experience on Earth,” said Caple. In regards to the characters from Beast Wars, Caple stated that they are “prehistoric animals that traveled through time and space, and we find them on Earth.”
