Today, publisher and developer Lienzo debuted the second announcement trailer for its upcoming title Aztech Forgotten Gods, the Latinx-Futurism cyberstone colossus fighter revealed in the April Nintendo Indie World Showcase, arriving on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC later this year.
Founded in Chihuahua, Mexico, Lienzo’s founders dreamt up an oasis for creative minds. To represent their desire to follow creative visions instead of choosing the industries their surroundings dictated, they named their studio after the Spanish word for “canvas.” In 2018, Lienzo released Mulaka, which earned several critical awards, including Game Informer’s Best Indies of PAX West 2017 and IGN’s Favorite Games of Nindies@Night 2017.
Aztech Forgotten Gods is the cyber-stone action-adventure following Achtli, a young woman who battles the colossal Forgotten Gods. To uncover the truth behind her far-future Mesoamerican metropolis, she’ll have to turn the Gods’ power against them as she soars through the city with power and grace using an ancient artifact, a remnant of a time long forgotten.
In the game you’ll shape an alternate history where ancient Mesoamerica continues to thrive, its shores never touched by other nations. Plus, you’ll beat back the gods rising from beneath the Aztecan capital of Tenochtitlan as Achtli, a young woman equipped with an ancient gauntlet granting her incredible strength and abilities. Launch rocket punches, grind rails, leap across buildings, and save the people of Tenochtitlan and finally, soar through the skies as the superhero of a gripping tale inspired by Aztec legends, cinema, and anime.
Aztech Forgotten Gods will be available in English and Spanish. For more information, please visit the official website.
