The Velocipastor review + interview with director Brendan Steere

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Velocipastor

Austen, Travis, and Mael sit down and review the amazing movie The Velocipastor in this week’s podcast episode. More importantly, we sit down with director Brendan Steere to talk about the process of making a movie with such a unique concept with such a small budget.

After losing his parents, a priest travels to China, where he inherits a mysterious ability that allows him to turn into a dinosaur. Although he is horrified by the new power, a hooker convinces him to use it to fight crime.

As evidenced by our glowing review which can be heard above, The Velocipastor balances a tight rope when it comes to self-parody, and is a “so bad its good” film. It doesn’t overstay it’s welcome, being a brisk hour and fifteen-minute movie, and it’s self-aware enough to know the best spots to make fun of the so bad its good subgenre of film. Everyone in the film is surprisingly good, and director Brendan Steere edits the film in a way that is super comedic to watch.

The VelocipastorHow did Brendan get the dinosaur suit for Velocipastor? Listen to our interview with him and find out!
