Splitgate: Arena Warfare, a fast-paced multiplayer shooter that uses player-controlled portals, is free on the Steam store.
Developed by 1047 Games, Splitgate features standard FPS controls and intuitive portal mechanics, letting beginners jump in quickly while also encouraging strategic gameplay to outsmart opponents. It also includes custom games and multiple playlists, aiming to feature something for everyone to enjoy.
1047 Games was founded by Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian in their dorm rooms at Stanford. What started as two computer science majors putting portals into an FPS for a project demo has now turned into a 20-person game development studio. Through their flagship game, Splitgate: Arena Warfare, 1047 Games aims to bring back the glory days of arena shooters.
