Struggling

Frontier Developments has announced Struggling, Frontier Foundry’s debut third-party published title developed by Chasing Rats Games, a Montreal-based studio. The game is available now on Steam and Nintendo Switch.

Struggling is a physics-based co-op platformer. Up to two players control the arms of the “fleshy” hero, Troy, as he sets out on his adventure. Outrun ravenous rats, joyride a dirt bike, and vault over pools of unmentionable waste, all on your epic quest to unlock Troy’s full potential.

Last year, Struggling earned high praise at many industry events, including Best in Show, Best Art Direction, Best Audio Design, and Public’s Favorite at the Montreal Independent Game Awards, IGN’s list Top 4 Co-Op Games at PAX East, and PC Gamer’s E3 Hidden Gem award.

The game’s attention-grabbing art style combines elements of comedy and horror to submerge players in a hilarious and unsettling world. The squishy protagonist will need to solve challenging puzzles using momentum and inertia to swing through four visually unique worlds, including horrific labs, perilous canyons, and even feverish hyper-dreams.

Players unlock a range of game-changing powers for Troy as they navigate increasingly tricky environments. These new skills include time-slowing to dodge fast-moving hazards, detachable arms, and the ability to graft appendages onto the environment.

Struggling is out now on Steam and Nintendo Switch. For more information, visit the official website.
