Stadia Connect Introduces More Games to Platform, Original Titles

In a new Stadia Connect YouTube video on Tuesday afternoon, Google introduced more games to its experimental streaming platform, as well as new features and a couple of original exclusive titles.

To start off the Stadia Connect, Meagan Timney, leader of Stadia’s User Experience Research Team, reminded the audience that Stadia Pro is still available for a month-long free trial, allowing users to immediately access games such as Elder Scrolls Online and Steamworld Dig 2Elder Scrolls Online is only free to claim until July 16, however, but does support cross play and cross progression with PC and Mac.

Additionally, she explained Stadia’s newest feature, called Click to Play. Occasionally, while watching YouTubers play online, you’ll be able to find a link in the video’s description bar that lets you drop in and start playing the game yourself without any downloads or updates as long as you are a Stadia Pro subscriber. The Click to Play feature will be available on any device that supports Stadia.

Plus, the price of the Stadia Premier edition, which includes a Chromecast and the Stadia controller, has dropped to $99.99.

Of course, the fledgling gaming platform dedicated most of its time during the Stadia Connect to showing off new games coming to Stadia, including a reminder that Marvel’s AvengersAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Cyberpunk 2077 will all be available later this year.

Publisher 2K Games is bringing over some of its titles as well, namely WWE BattlegroundsNBA 2K21, and other sports games, and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds‘ Season 8 will launch on July 30 and be free for Stadia Pro subscribers.

Serious Sam 4 from Croteam and Devolver Digital is also coming to Stadia, though it was not specified whether it would be at launch in August or later this year. Similarly, Outriders from Square Enix will come to the platform as well but no release date was mentioned.

However, there is a pretty lengthy list of titles coming sometime this fall, including Hello NeighborHitman 1, and Hitman 2, which are all coming in September, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which did not have a specified release date. The Hitman games will feature exclusive unique items and the prequel to Hello Neighbor, entitled Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek, is coming sometime this Holiday season. Hitman 3 will launch on Stadia as well in January 2021.

Dead by Daylight is launching on Stadia in September and will feature cross play and exclusive features of some kind.

Super Bomberman R Online will debut this fall and centers around a mode called Battle 64, in which you compete against 64 other players to be the last one standing. The online mode includes customization options for both costumes and the bombs themselves, letting you switch up their general appearance, as well as how they look when they explode.

Khaled Abdel Rahman from Stadia Games and Entertainment, the team that helps with the creation and publication of games for the platform, also showed off some original upcoming games and mentioned already-established studios that the team is working with, including Harmonix, Uppercut Games, and Supermassive Games.

One Hand Clapping is coming first to Stadia and is based around a musical world. It is available now for early access.

Outcasters, an original top-down shooter focused on trick shots and curved angles, launches sometime this fall, while Orcs Must Die 3 from Robot Entertainment is free to play now with Stadia Pro and features a wide variety of customization options and online two player co-op.
