The Girl of Glass: A Summer Bird’s Tale, initially announced in 2016 as part of the Square Enix Collective program, will be available on Steam later this summer and no longer follows an episodic formula.
The Girl of Glass: A Summer Bird’s Tale is an emotional summer tale that combines a colorful point and click adventure with strategic turn-based combat to tell the story of Kristal. Kristal is a fragile girl who has been granted asylum by the owner of the circus where she has lived and worked for years.
Now, Kristal’s grown up and looking for the true meaning of her life. To do that, she has to leave the circus, which isn’t as easy as it sounds.
The game features branching dialogue to personalize the gameplay experience, balanced combat with an emphasis on strategy instead of stats, a visual novel narration style, traditional 2D painted and animated environments, and a full orchestral soundtrack. It is set in a fictional mid-20th century European country.
