Thursday morning, Microsoft hosted its latest Inside Xbox, debuting gameplay footage and announcing upcoming titles for the Xbox Series X, which is slated to release this holiday season.
This most recent Inside Xbox stream focused on third-party developers. An in-depth look at first-party titles and gameplay will debut later this summer in July. According to the video, every major publisher is working on games for the Series X and hundreds of third-party titles will come to the console next year in 2021.
In addition, representatives from Microsoft discussed the brand new Smart Delivery feature. How exactly Smart Delivery works is still unclear, but it is meant to ensure that fans only have to buy one copy of a game for any console within the Xbox family. This means that a fan could buy a game for their Xbox One X and be able to still access the game once upgrading to a Series X. A stark contrast to Sony’s stance against reverse compatibility.
