Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man Far From Home STARZ

Spider-Man: Far From Home is the most recent movie to feature the web-slinger. Taking place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the movie follows a grieving Peter Parker as he tries to figure himself out after losing his mentor. Deciding to take a break from being Spider-Man, Peter travels to Europe on a school trip. However, things get complicated when a crisis occurs disrupting Peter’s European vacation and thus forcing him to save the day.

While not a movie that thrilled critics, it is hard to denounce that Venom isn’t a damn good time. Based on the Marvel Comics character of the same, the film follows Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. Brock, a journalist investigating the bio-engineering corporation Life Foundation, gains superpowers after being bound to an alien symbiote.

Tangled is the 2011 Disney princess film that is a reimagining of the classic fairytale Rapunzel. Starring Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, the film is a delightful and emotional journey featuring some of the best music in a Disney film following the Disney renaissance. The film is an uplifting story that is a must-watch while hunkered down.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly

Dragon Ball Broly STARZ

Dragon Ball Super: Broly takes place 41 years after Frieza takes over Planet Vegeta which he later destroys. Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and Whis are on the hunt for the last Dragon Ball, with the other six under Frieza’s control. As they reach the seventh Dragon Ball, our heroes see Frieza’s ship but notice that he’s not the only one on it. Frieza has managed to find Broly and his father Paragus. The two are Saiyans who had been in exile on a distant planet. Seeking revenge, Broly goes after our main characters Vegeta and Goku. Together, our heroes take part in one of their fiercest battles the franchise has seen yet.

Brightburn STARZ

To a certain extent, comic fans ask what if a villain instead of a hero had been dropped in a field in Kansas, given a loving family, and the powers of a god. Well, Brightburn answers those questions through long-established superhero tropes that are flipped upside down and crashed through a house. In the film, nature versus nurture is in full effect. Regardless of the love from his parents, or the fact his mother will continually turn a blind eye to the evidence of evil, Brand still becomes the villain of this story, the monster.

Osmosis Jones

Osmosis Jones

This might seem like an out-there choice but considering the state of the world, Osmosis Jones is the perfect movie to add to your binge-watch list. The 2001 live-action/animated action-comedy film follows a zoo worker who becomes ill after eating an egg contaminated with simian saliva. It becomes the job of a white blood cell cop and a fussy cold-cure pill to save the zookeeper.

My Hero Academia: Two Heroes

My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia: Two Heroes takes place in the same universe as the excellent anime My Hero Academia. The movie follows All Might after he is invited to a summer trip at “I-Island” and takes the young hero Deku along with him. The island features scientists researching Quirks. The trip takes a turn for the worse though when a villain takes the island hostage.
