Episode 62

Episode 62 was a quiet week, but that didn’t stop Ped, and Aaron digging into the details for a lively discussion. Nerds Social Club also got a brand new logo design! We hope you enjoy it, and we’d love to hear feedback on it.

First on the docket was a discussion post Oscars. Ped rallies around a number of the nominations, and winning films, especially Jojo Rabbit, 1917, and Parasite. On the opposite side, Ped comes to the defense of films that were snubbed by the academy awards, including (but not limited to) Uncut Gems. Adam Sandler also gave a brilliant speech, and we’ve included it below for your viewing pleasure.

Announced this week, was a reboot for Turner & Hooch, and sequel stories to Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and Mighty Ducks. The guys get into a discussion about whether Disney can continue to live off of rebooting old movies and shows. The gents also wonder what’s next coming on Disney+, given between now and August the original scheule is extremely light.

Just before recording, Matt Reeves tweeted a video where he unveiled Robert Pattinson in his all new Batsuit. The guys talk about their initial impressions of the suit, and what they’ve been hearing online.

Last topic of this weeks pod, was all centered around the Spider-Verse. With the leaked set image coming from either Morbius, or Venom 2, Ped floats a theory out about what he thinks Sony is intending to do with their cast of characters and the interaction with the MCU. Not only did we get this brilliant nugget of news, but we also learned that Sony is planning on releasing another Marvel film during October 2021. Word on the street, was that this could possibly be a Spider-Woman standalone film.

Lots of great conversations. If you feel so inclined, we’d love it if you could go rate us on whatever podcast app you listen to us on.
