Ace Attorney live action - But Why Tho
Still from the Ace Attorney Live-Action film with the Phoenix Wright in front.

This week the ladies take this episode’s discussion to the courts! The courtroom that is, as they discuss and review the 2012 Ace Attorney live-action. The ladies chat about how the film compares to the anime and original video games.  In addition, they also discussed Takashi Miike‘s lengthy anime adaption catalog and why he excels in this area of filmmaking. They are also joined by a special guest, Carolyn Hinds, fellow host of the So Here’s What Happened Podcast.

If you’re not familiar with the premise of the Ace Attorney live-action, here you go: The court system, overburdened by the massive number of crimes being committed, introduces a radical new method for settling cases more quickly: the bench trial system. Both prosecution and defense face each other in open court and have three days to make their case before the judge renders a verdict. With Takashi Miike’s killer anime vision, we dive into how this live-action captures the spirit and look of Capcom’s iconic Ace Attorney franchise. Oh, and of course, there is a lot of yelling “OBJECTION” because, of course, there is.
