This week, LaNeysha and Kate watched the live-action adaptation of the brutal anime that became a phenomenon: Attack on Titan. In 2015 the Attack on Titan live-action adaptation was part one of a movies series set to retell the events of the anime and manga. Having changed characters’ backstories, appearances, and in some cases getting rid of the character altogether, how does the film hold up for our anime fan hosts? Did the Titans look good? The Attack on Titan live-action Part 1 is directed by Shinji Higuchi, written by Yūsuke Watanabe and Tomohiro Machiyama and stars Haruma Miura as Eren, Hiroki Hasegawa, Kiko Mizuhara as Mikasa, Kanata Hongô as Armin, Takahiro Miura as Jean, Nanami Sakuraba as Sasha, Satoru Matsuo as Sannagi, Shu Watanabe, Ayame Misaki, Rina Takeda, Satomi Ishihara, Pierre Taki and Jun Kunimura. In Attack on Titan Eren Yeager, his childhood friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, join the Survey Corps, a military corporation to fight gigantic humanoids called the Titans after their hometown is attacked by a Colossal Titan. The film is split into two parts, with the first part released in Japan on 1 August 2015 and the second part (subtitled End of the World) released on 19 September that year.
