Next weekend, Atlanta will fall.
Beginning October 26th and ending on the 28th, Walker Stalker Con (WSC) is taking over the Georgia World Congress Center. The largest gathering of The Walking Dead fans, WSC Atlanta boasts an annual turn out of over 70,000 guests!
Walker Stalker Con is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the zombified fandom with guest appearances, photo ops and panels featuring some of the stars from the popular AMC television series, The Walking Dead! With a guest line-up highlighting names like Danai Guirira, Norman Reedus, Steven Yuen, and Alanna Masterson, even the most diehard fans will have a chance to meet their favorite characters in person and take a snapshot to commemorate the moment.
WSC Atlanta is still a con, though, so be prepared for undead cosplay (and cosplay contests!) and panels where you can win prizes from the Walking Dead artists like Rob Prior and Scott Spillman. There are also scheduled special viewings of The Walking Dead scheduled to allow fans to experience the fandom in celebration of what brought us all together.
If you’re worried about the kids, don’t be. Walker Stalker Con prides itself on a family-friendly environment. You can find the rules and regulations for conduct and cosplay here on the website, and on Saturday you can join other families for a Safe Trick or Treat event! There’s candy, of course, and also the wonderful Teal Pumpkin; a special booth where children with allergies or other related disabilities can exchange the candy they can’t eat for small toys or allergy-friendly options!
And speaking on disabilities, check this page out for the incredible accessibilities provided for disabled con-goers. I’m especially fond of the Quiet Room. Not only is it a calm and quiet place for those with sensory impairments or other similar disabilities, but it’s also a safe and judgment-free option for breastfeeding and changing babies, children, and disabled adults when other facilities aren’t available.
Tickets are on sale right now for Walker Stalker Con Atlanta, and the awesome adult-only after party, and this is a con you don’t want to miss. Just in time for Halloween, it’s the ideal way to celebrate one of the most popular pop-culture fandoms and the spooky holiday that thrives in the land of the undead!
Use #WSCAtlanta on social media to follow along, and I’ll see you there!
