Domino is Here, and I Couldn’t be Happier

After some rumors about Janelle Monae (Moonlight, Hidden Figures) being cast as Neena Thurman (Domino) in Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds revealed the casting choice as only Ryan Reynolds can:

In case you’ve had a long day and all the dots have your confused, it reads, Zazie Beetz is Domino! I can’t be happier! As one of the leads on FXX’s Emmy award winning comedy, Atlanta, her humor and wit has me excited to see what brings to the role of Domino. After some intial growing pains, Deadpool 2 seems to have picked up some steam.

Don’t know who Domino is? I got you covered.
Created in 1992 by Rob Liefeld (artist of pouches) and Fabien Nicieza (writer), Neena Thurman (aka Domino) is a prominent member of X-Force and debuted in X-Force issue #11. Her powers are similar to Longshot. She is an excelent marksman and has the ability to manipulate probability.  She’s Cable’s right-hand woman and her inclusion in Deadpool 2 will hopefully round out the probable X-Force mercenary story-line that has been brought up with the confirmation of Cable. As the only survivor of mutant breeding program, meant to create the perfect weapon, Domino stands to be a complex addition to the Deadpool story.

As the in-resident scholar, most of my blogs will discuss heavier issues: representation, gender, race, etc. I believe that pop culture teaches us things and I look forward to letting you know what see when I watch movies, read comics, play games, and binge watch 26 episodes in one sitting. But don't worry some posts about my feels and I won't always talk about the heavy things (just a lot of the time).
